Last night, young people in Brazil took to the streets to protest a spike in the bus fare, but really it was much deeper than that.
Fed up with a government that is investing in the World Cup, but not investing in poverty programs, education and healthcare, 200,000 people finally had enough. Here is the enormous crowd shot in six seconds courtesy of Vine. And below are some incredible photos taken during the protest. To get a full run-down of why these protests have erupted over the past few weeks, check out this article on Reuters.
“As many as 200,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Brazil’s biggest cities on Monday in a swelling wave of protest tapping into widespread anger at poor public services, police violence and government corruption,” the article begins.
Stand strong, brothers and sisters in Brazil. We stand with you!
