MARTA to Change Weekend Schedule For Track Work

In order to accommodate scheduled track work, MARTA will modify rail service on the Red and Gold Lines on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. Customers traveling this weekend are advised to please allow extra time for their trip.

Red Line trains will only operate between North Springs and Lindbergh Stations. Only the Gold Line trains will travel to the Airport Station; therefore, service between the Lindbergh and Airport Stations will be running at a reduced frequency – every 20 minutes. Customers traveling from North Springs will need to transfer to a Gold Line train at Lindbergh Station in order to continue southbound. Customers traveling northbound from the Airport will need to board a Gold Line train and transfer to a Red Line train at Lindbergh Station to continue to North Springs Station.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience as we conduct this work to keep our system operating at its highest level,” said Marta spokeswoman Cara Hodgson.

At Buckhead Station, all trains will board on the northbound platform. At West End and Garnett Stations, all trains will board on the southbound platform.

MARTA will not do any daytime single-tracking on the Blue and Green Lines.

MARTA is conducting regularly scheduled track work as part of its Capital Improvement Program to rebuild and upgrade the rail system to enhance the overall safety and reliability of the service.
