Android's Sales Surge Slows a Bit

Google CEO Larry Page announced today 750 million Android devices have been activated.

Android made its last update 189 days ago on Sept. 5 and reported an average of 1.4 million devices activated per day with 480 million Android devices globally. That’s still impressive, however, it appears the operating system’s popularity has leveled. After seeing rocket growth since 2010, the most recent numbers are not much of an improvement over the average daily activation rate from September, which was 1.3 million per day.

In Feb. 2012 only 850,000 Android devices where activated per day.

Google is averaging 1.4 million devices activated per day and has grown significantly over the years.

Although Android is still rather popular with consumers, sequentially speaking, Android’s growth is slowing down.
