Authorities continue searching for the gunman who carjacked a Jeep with two young girls in the back seat Sunday afternoon.
The stepfather of the young girls told police that a man pointed a gun at him and then ordered he get out of his car on Halligan Pointe in South Fulton County.
The stepfather said he told the gunman that his kids were in the Jeep, but he took the car anyway.
Hours later, a woman who lives on Ashington Court, a mile away, discovered the girls and called police, where they found the abandoned Jeep.
“It’s just, I don’t know. He’s just disgusting. That’s just horrible. That’s a heartless person,” Otura Lista, mother of the girls, told WSB. “I’m just so happy, because I was so scared. That was just the worst night of my life.”
Six-year-old Jatura and her 5-year-old sister, Jayla, told police they were sleeping and did not know what had happened.
The girls’ aunt, Marina Grant, said she is grateful for the woman who found the girls.
“She’s an angel. She’s a blessing. She’s an angel in disguise.” Grant said.
Police plan on putting out a sketch of the carjacker, hoping someone will recognize him.
