The first baby born in Banks County in 2013 was reportedly birthed not at a hospital, but inside of a Walmart restroom. That according to a report from Fox 5 Atlanta.

The baby was born at the Commerce Walmart location to a 37-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant at the time. EMTs reportedly arrived on the scene to find the mother in the bathroom having already delivered the brand new baby boy.

“All we had to do was cut the umbilical cord,” said EMT Scotty Mathis.

Fire department officials said they have been checking in on both mother and child and say that the pair are doing well.

“Walmart management staff actually did a great job,” Mathis said. “They already had the baby warmed up in blankets.”

Surprisingly, this is not the first instance of a baby being born inside the retail giant. In 2006, 21-year-old Brittany Miller went shopping with her grandmother and had a similar experience, giving birth to a newborn baby girl inside the store’s bathroom.

“I guess you can even get babies at Wal-Mart,” said Miller. “Grandma and I went shopping. I went in the bathroom and out she came!”

Miller claimed she didn’t even know she was pregnant – she had no morning sickness and no unusual movement, even though doctors estimate she was a week overdue.

Miller named her baby Kallie, but family members quickly gave it the nickname Marty, short for Walmart. No word on whether a similarly lighthearted nickname has been thought of for the Commerce woman’s baby boy.
