Following the success of Bravo’s “Basketball Wives,” the network formerly known as The Learning Channel will be bringing viewers the lives of Atlanta’s so-called first ladies, all of whom are married to preachers, called “The Sisterhood.”

Deciding on the name “The Sisterhood,”TLC  is bringing the pulpit drama into your home on January 1, starring preachers’ wives Delana, Christina, Ivy, Tara and Domonique.

    Check out details from People.com:

The view from inside their world as they support their husbands and churches, is a radical and candid rendering of how most people might view their role. They argue, get tattoos, work out to look hot and talk openly about sex, drugs and their not-so-godly pasts in a series certain to shake the Bible Belt.

“The only thing we agree on is we all love God,” says one of the ladies, “everything else is up to chance.”

Check out a preview of the show on the Atlanta Daily World homepage.

As previously reported by NewsOne, TLC is partnering with True Entertainment, the production company behind “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” True Entertainment president, Steven Weinstock, shared his excitement about this unexpected partnership and also the rationale behind the new series:

We are excited to work with TLC to profile the lives of these strong-willed women. With most praise in religious communities directed towards male preachers, we are thrilled to give these remarkable ladies the spotlight they crave and deserve.”

Preachers’ wives who “crave the spotlight”? Way to sneak a jab in on them, Weinstock.

We’re not exactly sure what message  this show is hoping to convey. First Ladies:  They can be just as materialistic, catty and filled with drama as all the other reality show divas? If nothing else, the show is sure to give a few congregations something to talk about.
