Katt Strikes Again: Comedian Leads Sacramento Police On High-Speed Chase…On A Tri-Cycle?

Just when you thought Katt Williams might be ready to take a break from the shenanigans, the embattled comedian is accused of leading police in Sacramento, California on a high-speed chase through the streets on a motorized tri-cycle, reports TMZ.com.

Williams allegedly was driving the three-wheeled motorcycle on the sidewalk. When police attempted to pull him over, he took off driving erratically in the street, at one point on the wrong side of the road.

Williams reportedly took off his helmet and yelled, “I’m not going to stop!”

Police called off the chase because of public safety and reportedly plan on charging the comedian with felony evasion.

As previously reported by NewsOne, the funnyman and promotion company Live Nation are faced with a class-action suit filed by concert-goer Brian Herline on behalf of everyone who attended the now infamous, drug-fueled Oakland show.

Speaking exclusively with NewsOne on condition of anonymity, a former acquaintance of the comedian reveals that a clinical mental disorder likely plays a role in his current state:

“Katt was diagnosed as Bipolar I when he was involuntarily checked into a mental institution several years ago. He refuses to take medication and instead uses narcotics which exacerbates the condition. Some mentally ill take out their demons on themselves but Katt projects his pain externally as we’ve seen play out when he goes in on hecklers in his audience. If you know his career trajectory extending all the way back to his room at the Hollywood Casino you’d know he never went “in” on people who came to see his shows – that’s for comedians who don’t have any material.

“Unfortunately Katt no longer has material because he’s in such a dark place he can’t come up with jokes. It speaks to the greed of Live Nation that they would even continue to book him shows being aware of his illness and drug use, and letting him embarrass himself on camera in front of the world. I hope he can find professional help otherwise we will wake up one day to hearing of his death either via suicide or homicide.”
