Harriet Adele Ferrell Laid To Rest At Wheat St. Baptist Church

Harriet A. Ferrell was laid to rest recently at Wheat Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Michael N. Harris, pastor, officiating and giving the eulogy. An educator by profession who taught for many years at Atlanta Technical College, Ferrell received “The Faithful Service Award” from Gov. Sonny Perdue for her 35 years of teaching at that institution.

Ferrell was preceded in death by her sister Joyce Ferrell Clark and her parents, the late James Hill and Julia Mae Ferrell. She leaves a sister, Gwendolyn Ferrell (Clinton) and several nieces and nephews. The family asks that donations be made in her name to Harriet Ferrell’s alma mater, Spelman College, at 350 Spelman Lane, S.W., P.O. Box 1303, Atlanta, GA 30314.
