Falcons Beat Cowboys on Sunday Night to Remain Unbeaten

Michael Turner rumbled into the endzone to break the tie and the Atlanta Falcons beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, 19-13. The win moved the Falcons to 8-0 and the NFL’s only perfect team.

Matt Bryant kicked four field goals to get the game’s other 12 points and quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 342 yards in an effort that the Boston College grad called “good enough.”

“I think at the end of the day it’s a league that’s based on wins and losses and tonight was a solid effort by this team and we did what we needed to do to come out with a win,” Ryan said.

Turner went over 100 yards, with 102 on 20 carries and the defense held the Cowboys to 65 yards rushing. In an ESPN article, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett praised the Falcons ability to get it done.

“There’s a reason they’re undefeated halfway through the season,” Garrett said. “This is a challenging place to play at. I thought we did some good things in the ballgame. They did more good things. We didn’t do enough to win this game in all three phases of our football team.”
