Demetrius Thompson turned himself in to the the Fulton County Fugitive Squad yesterday after a parent reported to Bear Creek Middle School that the registered sex offender had been interacting with students at school activities.

Thompson was known to pass out pizza to South Fulton students at Bear Creek and Creekside High School.

Bobby Wilcox’s daughter attends Bear Creek and while going through an online registry of Georgia’s sex offenders, he said she pointed out Thompson.

“When I first showed them the picture, my daughter was like ‘Daddy, that’s the guy that was passing pizza out to us at the football game,'” Wilcox told WSB.

Thompson reportedly went on field trips and was around kids on several occasions.

He was convicted in 2004 on two counts of aggravated child molestation and was placed on the Georgia Sex Offender Online Registry. Attending activities at schools is a violation of his probation as a registered sex offender.

Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted unsuccessfully to serve an arrest warrant at Thompson’s home. He eventually turned himself into the Fulton County Fugitive Squad Tuesday evening.
