3 Hurt, But No Serious Injuries at Halloween Parade

During Saturday’s Little 5 Points Halloween Parade, a motorcycle with two riders slammed into the back of the “Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse” float, sending at least four people to the hospital and temporarily stopping the parade. Forunately, new reports suggest that no one was seriously injured.

A witness to the accident told AJC reporters that the driver of the motorcycle unsuccessfully was “trying to pop a wheelie” as the parade was passing on Euclid Avenue. He lost control and he and a female passenger were thrown off the motorcycle, the witness said.

“He went over the handlebars, and she fell off the back,” said Mark Williams of Marietta who saw the crash unfold.

Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse representatives said on the group’s Facebook page Sunday that everyone is doing alright, and that the accident “could have been much worse.”

“Had a bad accident at the parade but everyone is ok,” said the post. “4 people were sent to the emergency room and are definitely banged up pretty good but everyone will be ok. The motorcycle driver was having problems with his bike. It was stalled and when he finally got it started it took off and slammed into our van after hitting 3 of our staff.”
