The Center Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully, Inc., (C.H.O.I.C.E.S.) will celebrate their 10-year anniversary at their fundraiser, Twilight on Childhood Obesity, an evening of humor featuring a performance by Atlanta native and Las Vegas comedian George Wallace. It takes place Friday, October 19 at 7p.m. at the Buckhead Theater, 3110 Roswell Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.

Wallace, who has headlined a nightly stand-up comedy show for the past nine years at the famous Flamingo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, will be coming home to support C.H.O.I.C.E.S., a nonprofit organization formed in 2002 to fight the epidemic of childhood obesity. There are an estimated ten million obese and overweight American kids. Georgia is ranked third in the nation for childhood obesity.

Dubbed “Mr. Las Vegas” by The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Wallace has appeared on “House of Payne,” “Seinfield” and “The Parkers” television shows, and is now a stand-up comedian that entertains for audiences from all over the world. Wallace routinely performs before packed audiences as the headliner at the Flamingo, and considers doing a show in Atlanta an honor as this is where it all began for him.

“Atlanta is my home,” he said. “As a youngster I sold papers on the corner there. I came here (to Las Vegas) for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and now I’m in my 9th year,” said Wallace who noted he produces, promotes and directs his show as well as writes his jokes and selects the music.

Tickets are $75 for general admission and $150 for VIP and can be purchased online at www.choicesforkids.org . In addition to the performance there will be a VIP Reception, After-Party and silent auction. Funds raised will help C.H.O.I.C.E.S. offer after-school programs and open a programming facility in the City of Atlanta.
