On Monday, Sept. 17, on the Tom Joyner Morning Show Tyler Perry announced that he is postponing his tour, Tyler Perry’s “Madea Gets a Job,” until he can gain a handle on ticket sales and reduce the extreme hike in prices caused by scalpers.
Tyler Perry stated: “I’m so frustrated because I go through this all the time. I set the ticket prices at $25, $45, $65; nobody can get tickets for those prices. The bootleggers come they buy the tickets they mark them up; all the fees on top of the tickets are marked up. …I don’t’ want people out there spending $150 per ticket. We’re postponing the tour.
“No matter how you set the prices they double or triple them no matter what you do! It was 8 weeks we were going to do on this leg of the tour so we had to take them down,” said Perry.
