Ballethnic’s spring production of “Jazzy Sleeping Beauty,” at Georgia Tech’s Ferst Center, had a strong and wide appeal to its audience – both young and old — because it’s an innovative restaging of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet with a jazzy music score. The production features a multicultural cast of 50 performers — professional and youth dancers as well as a senior adult ensemble (from the Bowden Center). This spring production also marked Ballethnic’s 22nd year in Atlanta’s performing arts community, bringing a distinctive blend of traditional dance, and African- American and other ethnic dance forms.
