So you are ready for your big break — lights, camera, action? You think “Dancing with The Stars” is cool and “So You Think You Can Dance” is hot?

Well, three-time Tony Award winning choreographer and New York Broadway star Hinton Battle, whose work has been seen on “Dancing With The Stars” and the hit movie “Idlewild,” has put together a team of professionals to prepare the next dance and acting sensations for the big stage and the little screen.

The Concert 2 Commercial Intensive (C2C), set for Gotta Dance Studios, 1778 Ellsworth Industrial Drive, N.W.  (in the Howell Mill Rd area) Feb. 25 and 26, was founded by Battle to prepare artists to take the leap from concert to commercial.

Dancers are given the once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to be seen by and work with today’s top choreographers, agents, casting directors, photographers and hair and make up artists in theatre, television and film.

Because of his wonderful journey from the School of American Ballet to Broadway, TV, film, dancer, choreographer, Director and Producer, Hinton is able to design a spectacular program for transitioning dancers. C2C is a two-day, six-hour intensive program that gives dancers the necessary tools and opportunity to successfully make the transition. Professional hair and make up artists will lecture the dancers on the importance of “the look” and provide tips for photo sessions.

Battle launched his own career at the age of 16 starring as the scarecrow in “The Wiz.” His two-day seminar has the best in the industry from top agency MSA of New York and Los Angeles signed on to provide instruction in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York and Orlando.  Some of the pros joining Battle here in Atlanta are Jeremy Dell, makeup artist for Braxton of “Family Values,” and Jody Feldman, associate producer, Alliance Theater.

Other cities include New York, Los Angeles and Orlando.  Professionals include: Filpz, You Got Served, Honey, Step Up and Chris Brown; Bethany Strong, private coach to the stars such as Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Ne-Yo and Lady GaGa; Brooke Lipton Godineaux, choreographer for Glee and Tony Selznich of MSA Agency.

The winner of Tony Awards for his work in “Sophisticated Ladies,” “Miss Saigon” and the “Tap Dance Kid,” Hinton, whose Broadway career includes work with “Dancin,” “Dreamgirls” and “Chicago,” is also the recipient of the NAACP Image Award and Fred Astair Award. His spellbinding choreography featured in the film Idlewild and TV’s Dancing with the Stars which prompted Tom Bergeron remark, Hinton Battle’s SWOP “is like Dancing With-Out Wings.” This dynamic director/choreographer had three box office smashes running simultaneously across North America; “Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead,” in Toronto Canada, and New York City and award-nominated “Respect.”

Hinton has just completed choreographing two feature films, “Bolden,” and “The Little Louis” with original score by jazz great Wynton Marsalis. He is also is a producer of the Off-Broadway Show “SISTAS,” now playing in New York City at the St. Luke’s Theater at 46 Street & Broadway and the release of his single available on iTunes, “When I Walk.”
