ATLANTA, GA – After announcing early success in its ongoing campaign, Georgia Shakespeare is thrilled to announce the opening of The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, directed Richard Garner, opening on October 7, 8pm curtain. There is a preview performance on October 6 and the show runs through October 30.
Georgia Shakespeare announces its fall show will go on as planned after the company launched a “Save the Theatre” campaign earlier this month. The company is at 65% of the $500,000 dollars they’ve identified as needing by the end of the year. More details about the campaign are available on the website: www.gashakespeare.org.
ABOUT THE GLASS MENAGERIE
A mother struggles to hold on to her family. A son struggles to let go. A daughter struggles to find her way in the world. Tennessee Williams’ memory play paints a heart-wrenching portrait of the Wingfield family, with each member trapped in a reality that they are desperate to escape, but truly cannot.
The Glass Menagerie features Joe Knezevich (Tom), Mary Lynn Owen (Amanda), Bethany Anne Lind (Laura) and Travis Smith (Gentleman Caller).
The Glass Menagerie is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., on behalf of the University of the South, Sewanee , Tennessee .
